How to find a husband (or wife) quickly -and choose well.

If you are one of those lovely people who detest the institution of marriage for whatever reason, or simply vowed to stay proudly single (more power to you!) kindly scroll down.

This is for ladies (and gents) who want to find a husband (or wife), tie the knot, find their Mr. or Mrs. Right, and get their happily ever after of sorts — and quickly, if possible.

Fear not, dear lonely hearts: I cannot promise you will land a date for this Valentine’s Day (trying won’t hurt, though, if that matters so much to you) but judging by first-hand experience and a lot of amateurish anthropological observation, I can tell that if you put these tips to good use, you will have the right frame of mind, get in full marriage material mode and be on the right track soon enough.

Take a deep breath because good things take time, even if one follows a shortcut, and let’s get to it.

1-Ask yourself: do you really, really BUT REALLY want to get married?

Sometimes we think we want something but have underlying fears that sabotage our goals. And marriage is frankly terrifying —for all the joy it brings, it implies giving up our total freedom and putting an end to any other options (when you choose it's chosen, you can’t exactly return the bride or groom to the shop). It is also a road of lifelong compromising, adjusting, and making sacrifices — and not even the romantic, bold, heroic sacrifices, but little, day-to-day, daft ones.

You might think you are ready, but deep down everyone knows how it goes: even if you have a fabulous financial situation that allows you to set aside the boring and exhausting everyday tasks and worries, you still have to share your time (no more getting home and doing whatever you please without considering anyone else’s needs) plans (money might not be an obstacle to get your dream Ferrari, but your wife thinks its a useless toy) life projects (you’d like to move to New York…
